Sometimes I Don’t Rhymes: Seasonal Haiku

I don’t really do Christmas. But it would be churlish of me, particularly after such a hard year for everyone, not to extend my best wishes for readers who enjoy participating at this time of year. I hope you can find pleasure and delight in whatever family traditions and observances you follow–including the annual Monopoly game and arguing over what time the Queen is on this year before falling asleep on the sofa–as best you can in these necessarily restrictive and trying times.

Also, I did a little haiku.

It’s not enormously festive either, but I’m really making an effort here.

christmas eve haiku
just like a normal haiku
but with more presence

Thank you for visiting Scribblans today. Sorry it probably wasn’t very good this time.
Did you know, if you share this post on your social media, it might have the effect of making you feel better? About everything?
Yes it could. Well, try it if you don’t believe me then.

  1. I love this haiku — about as much Christmas as I do! Hope you are perceiving incrementally shorter nights and are looking forward to the illusion of a brand new year!
