Some recent posts have been finely tuned to generate page views out of a cynical sentiment, expressed in Haiku. Most are timed to be posted on a Tuesday, which for some reason I chose as the day I posted a haiku.
Generally it has little to offer in return for any readers who have made the effort to come and read it, and I expect this post is no different.
However, I can offer something more thoughtful this week, although of course because it appears to be thoughtful it was not thought of or written by myself.
A comment on ‘James Proclaims‘, by none other than the author James himself, in reply to a comment on his blog.
Offering disposable light relief has always been the extent of my ambition.
I always seem to get increasingly sucked into the darkly satirical mocking of the incompetence all around us on this blog, and it’s not long before I am so wound up, angry and miserable about the injustices all over the world that it is harder to find a way back to any lighter side at all.
And I think possibly the above comment just made me think how negative using that cynical energy is to me, even if amusing to the readers sometimes. The news and social media is full of satirical mocking, general mocking, and outright hate and disbelief enough already, and I don’t think adding to that maelstrom myself helps anyone really.
I shall try to remember that I also intended to offer ‘disposable light relief‘ to start off with and that if my posts are to be insignificant in the grand scheme of things, they can at least be knowingly insignificant, have no ambition to last longer than two or three minutes, and hopefully might be a little bit funny in the right light too.
Although that good intention only seems to last for about as long as a typical Japanese syllable-limited poetic form of some sort at the moment.
Like this one.

Thank you for visiting Scribblans today. Sorry it probably wasn’t very good this time.
Did you know, if you share this post on your social media, it might have the effect of making you feel better? About everything?
Yes it could. Well, try it if you don’t believe me then.
